Nixon Had Ford To Pardon Him…Obama Ain’t So Lucky!
In a series of Tweets this morning the Commander-in-chief made very strong accusations about the behavior of the Obama Administration.
From what was said so far by President Trump, it would seem that he has reason to believe that his residence in Trump Tower was wiretapped in some capacity.
If this is true, we’re in bigger trouble than we imagined. An act like the sitting president is describing is almost unprecedented. The closest comparison would be to President Nixon’s Watergate scandal, however, Nixon was only directly involved in the coverup.
From the indications that Trump has made he is directly implicating Obama’s involvement. Not good.
There still remains a fair bit of confusion about the nature of his claims.
What is certain is that the Obama administration did request surveillance on Trump’s campaign and continued that surveillance after no evidence of crime or collusion was found.
Since Trump does not specify how the information was uncovered there isn’t a lot to go on. This could mean that he is simply playing his cards close to the vest while the investigation into the illegal wiretapping is further analyzed.
While it is important to note that Fox News is not a friendly entity (note: it is owned by the Murdochs who also own a number of unfriendly entities like the Wall Street Journal), they have shed some light one where the origin of this information might be found: Mark Levin’s Radio show. Here’s the rundown, in brief:
June 2016: FISA request. The Obama administration files a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied.
October: FISA request. The Obama administration submits a new, narrow request to the FISA court, now focused on a computer server in Trump Tower suspected of links to Russian banks. No evidence is found — but the wiretaps continue, ostensibly for national security reasons, Andrew McCarthy at National Review later notes. The Obama administration is now monitoring an opposing presidential campaign using the high-tech surveillance powers of the federal intelligence services.
The Obama administration sought a wide order to run surveillance on Trump and was rejected and then sought a more narrow order that was confirmed. No evidence was found yet the surveillance continued nonetheless.
Breitbart provides a nice timeline to the disgusting behavior of the Obama administration’s surveillance which culminated in the relaxing of information sharing between agencies — thereby ensuring that everything about Trump that was collected in NSA offices could be scattered across all entities within the Executive Branch. If you want to know about how the Deep State began arming itself, start there.
