During Donald Trump’s inaugural address, he said, “We will follow two simple rules: buy American and hire American.” It’s paying off, already!
In January, under the new Trump administration, 227,000 new jobs were created. (via Breitbart) Wages also ticked up slightly, by 2.5 percent from January 2016.
The president’s commitment to keeping jobs in our country immediately boosted the private sector.
Several companies quickly made a commitment to add jobs here, including Ford, SAP SE, Lockheed Martin, Amazon, Bayer AG, GM, Walmart, and a number of others.
Interestingly enough, employers are also navigating a tighter job market. “We’re still continuing to see wage pressure as the candidate market continues to shrink,” said Amy Glaser, the vice president of Adecco Staffing USA. Her company has 300 branches across the U.S.
There is not only a huge demand for highly-skilled workers such as engineers, but mid-skilled workers such as welders are also experiencing a high demand for their services.
“Employers are getting very creative,” Glaser said. “We’re seeing sign-on bonuses. They have added sabbaticals to their packages, increases to stock options, free child care on site, and free meals. Anything to get a competitive edge.”
Companies now have a great deal of optimism because of this new administration. Also, many individuals are starting to believe that there will be a job for them and that they will be able to provide for their families once again.
Of course, this is hard to believe when one watches the news. Liberals in the media haven’t gotten the optimism memo. They continue to believe that Trump is going to be a nightmare, even though the facts tell us otherwise.
We will let them live in their own world if they want. In the meantime, we are going to sit back and enjoy the benefits that our president has brought to our country. We will not only enjoy an increase in jobs but soon it will be easier to buy American too!
We now realize that when Donald Trump says he wants to “Make America Great Again” he stands by that statement. It wasn’t just a ploy to get votes. It’s not even a month in, and our president’s policies are already starting to take effect.
